That Moon Band (Lunar Vacation)

Being back at UNC after a year stint was strange in many ways. A lot had changed since I had stepped foot on campus as a fully-enrolled student: I had seen so many sights, met so many people, and yet, I was so happy to be back.

One thing I learned abroad was how to enjoy my own company. On breaks between classes, particularly when the weather became pleasant, I began "quad-sitting," but mostly by myself. I'd position myself in front of the Wilson library, sometimes doing work, but mostly lazing around and sketching.

I also tried to explore the area as if I was studying abroad at UNC. I tried more restaurants. I finally went to Rumours. I biked around Carrboro, picking up chocolate croissants at cafes for Sierra and I to share.

I booked the ticket for this concert when I was in Hong Kong. There's something about hearing music you've emotionally bonded with live. You may be thinking, "well duh, Emily, that's how it works." Well, it was a first-time realization for me, thank you very much.
